# AI Detection & Response Projects Projects provide visibility and control into your AI use cases. A project should represent a particular use case, like a production AI application or a group of users with common needs. You can create a custom AIDR policy and apply it to the project, allowing you more granular security controls. You can also document a business owner and escalation details for the target. Create Policy First It is recommended that you start with [Policy](/docs/products/aidr-g/policy) first. When creating a project, you can select the appropriate policy. ## Prerequisites The following are required to use a Project. - AIDR deployed in Hybrid mode. See [AIDR Deployments](/docs/products/aidr-g/aidrgenai_aws). - API key and secret. For the API key, the Policy permission must be set to Read. See [API Permission Related to Products](/docs/products/console/apikey_aisec_platform#api-permission-related-to-products). - A policy to associate with the project. See [AIDR Policy](/docs/products/aidr-g/policy). ## Create a Project 1. In the Console, go to **Admin > Projects**. 2. Click **Add Project**. The Add Project slide out appears. 3. Enter a unique name for the project. 4. A Project ID is automatically generated. If you want to enter your own Project ID, do the following. - Enable “I’ll enter my own Project ID” be clicking the checkbox. A green checkmark indicates you will enter your own Project ID. - Enter a unique Project ID. This Project ID must be unique to your tenant. 5. Select a Policy from the dropdown menu. 6. Select a Risk Level. 7. Optional.
