HiddenLayer’s AI Security Platform: Self-Hosted/Air-Gapped will continue to differ from our SaaS offering. HiddenLayer recommends utilizing our SaaS offering when able, as the self-hosted and air-gapped renditions of the AI Security Platform is for specific scenarios and environments. When utilizing the AI Security Platform: Self-Hosted/Air-Gapped, consider the following:
  • Additional prerequisites to function in an self-hosted/air-gapped environment.
  • Trailing feature and functionality support when compared to the SaaS offering.
    • Additionally: Some features can only be used in an Internet connected environment and will not be supported in an air-gapped environment.

Method of Deployment

HiddenLayer’s AI Security Platform: Self-Hosted/Air-Gapped can be installed one of two ways:
  • Bring your own Kubernetes: You already run a Kubernetes cluster, and install the platform into it with helm.
  • Embedded Cluster: The installer provisions a Kubernetes cluster on hosts you provide, and installs the platform into it. Both are distributed through your HiddenLayer license, and both deploy the same platform. The difference is who supplies the cluster, and how you provide configuration: a Helm values file, or a browser-based configuration screen.
Whichever method you choose, the installer is a single component that runs inside the cluster and deploys the rest of the platform. An install is complete when that installer job finishes successfully.

Types of Deployments

HiddenLayer’s AI Security Platform: Self-Hosted/Air-Gapped can be installed as:
  • Self-Hosted: Similar to the HiddenLayer SaaS offering, but running on the user’s hardware.
  • Air-Gapped: Similar to the self-hosted deployment, but without access to the Internet.
